Merck seeks a Senior Quality Control Technician for its animal health production facility in Cologne. The role involves performing analytical testing in a BSL3 laboratory according to GMP standards, managing quality documentation, investigating deviations, and supporting method validation and equipment qualification.
Responsibilities
Execute and evaluate analytical testing in quality control lab per GMP guidelines and work instructions
Document test results and enter release-relevant data in SAP with full GMP compliance
Investigate deviations and out-of-specification results; support audit and inspection readiness
Assist in developing, optimizing, validating, and transferring analytical methods
Maintain laboratory equipment calibration, chemical inventory, and biosafety compliance
Requirements
Completed degree or apprenticeship in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or related science field
Proficient with MS Office and preferably SAP
Fluent in German and English, written and spoken
Prior experience in pharmaceutical quality control and GMP knowledge preferred
Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
Compensation: Competitive package: 13 monthly salaries plus vacation pay plus performance bonus; 30 days annual leave
