As a Project Controls Engineer (EVM) , you will be responsible for the implementation, oversight and ingoing administration of the Earned Value Management system across various contractor scopes on a major, new data center project. Working closely with project managers, planners, cost managers, and client stakeholders, you will help embed standardized Rules of Credit and specialized coding across multi-tiered project execution schedules to align scope, schedule and cost baselines across the project lifecycle. You will ensure objective performance measurement, robust variance analysis, and data-drive monthly payment process reviews to maintain project control and predictability.

Key Responsibilities

Define and enforce approved Rules of Credit in accordance with client standards.

  • Regular Site Walks & Progress Verifications: Facilitate regular site walks with contractors, especially at month-end, to review and sign of progress reports, verifying actual physical completion against P6 schedule activities and approved Rules of Credit (RoCs) before authorizing progress payment applications.

  • Primavera P6 Financial Period Processing: Oversee bi-weekly and monthly P6 schedule updates by contractors, ensuring proper execution of payment application processing.

  • EVM Reporting & Variance Analysis: Track core EVM metrics (BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI, CPI, ETC, EAC, VAC) and administer monthly Contract Performance Reports (CPRs) and Variance Analysis Reports by the contractors with ensuring the establishment and expediting of actionable corrective proposal whenever performance indices breach control thresholds.

  • Supply Chain Onboarding & Training: Lead training, re-training and coaching sessions for contractor planners and commercial teams on project governance, processes, specifications, standards and expectations. Ensure compliance with project controls governance, reporting standards and best practices.

  • E2E Project Controls:

    • Support schedule and cost integration, change- and risk management, and forecasting activities, even when outside of EVM remit.

    • Collaborate with project managers, planners, cost managers, and client stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.

    • Creation, refinement and presentation of ad-hoc reporting based on project demands.

    • Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls systems, tools and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in Project Controls and EVM. Also applicable are Project Planning, Cost Engineering, or Cost Management.
  • In-depth understanding and practical application of Earned Value Management principles, standards and techniques.
