Lead Scientist on Preclinical Disease Models for RNA-based Drug Discovery & Development (m/w/d)
Wir suchen für unseren Standort in Mannheim einen erfahrenen Lead / Staff Scientist (m/w/d) zur wissenschaftlichen Leitung von Projekten im Bereich der RNA-Biologie. In dieser Position baust Du eine eigene Forschungsgruppe auf und treibst die Entwicklung von Bioinformatik-Pipelines sowie Multi-Omics-Analysen voran. Deine Aufgaben:
Leitung wissenschaftlich anspruchsvoller Projekte im Bereich der RNA-Biologie und Entwicklung der wissenschaftlichen Ausrichtung
Aufbau, Entwicklung und Optimierung robuster Bioinformatik-Pipelines sowie Durchführung integrativer Multi-Omics-Analysen
Arbeit mit Bulk- und Single-Cell-RNA-Sequenzierung sowie Forschung im Bereich der Epitranskriptomik
Analyse von RNA-Modifikationen, unter anderem mittels Nanopore Direct RNA Sequencing
Erforschung von RNA-Protein-Interaktionen, Sequenzmotiven, Alu-Biologie und RNA-Editing
Einsatz von Machine Learning zur Identifikation neuer biologischer Mechanismen und therapeutischer Ansätze
Enge Zusammenarbeit mit experimentell arbeitenden Biologen sowie Betreuung und Mentoring von Nachwuchswissenschaftlern
Mitwirkung bei Publikationen und der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln
Dein Profil:
Abgeschlossene Promotion (PhD) im Bereich Bioinformatik, Computational Biology, Molekularbiologie oder einer verwandten Disziplin
Fundierte Erfahrung im Bereich RNA-Modifikationen sowie einschlägige wissenschaftliche Publikationen
Kenntnisse in Programmiersprachen (z. B. Python, R, Julia) sowie Machine-Learning-Frameworks (z. B. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) sind von Vorteil
Erfahrung mit bioinformatischen Datenbanken (z. B. GENCODE, RNAcentral, Modomics) ist wünschenswert
Gute Deutschkenntnisse (C1) sind ein Plus
Starke analytische Fähigkeiten, Teamgeist und Freude am Gruppenaufbau (gerne auch erfahrenere Bewerber)
